old scenic highway

Sunday, January 15th, 2012

I went hiking and caught this view of a perfect S curve on an old scenic highway.  I was shooting cross-processed film and knew that it would look just the right amount of aged and yellowed.

Stardust Motel at moonrise

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

Perfectly patina’d motel sign at twilight, with the full moon rising behind it.  This might be too small but hopefully you can see the peeling paint and all the great colors and the moon and the graininess of the film.

church in Texas

Ornate wooden church in West Texas.  Shot on cross-processed film.  Turned out slightly more yellow than expected, but still has the lovely blues and reds that I was hoping for.

This converted church in Marfa is someone’s home.  Maybe next time I’ll knock on the door and ask for a tour.

Anyone will tell you that Marfa is a beguiling town.  I never seem to be able to stop taking pictures when I’m there.
