Gerard Mulot is a master pastry maker in Paris.  I have no idea how people choose which pastry to buy, they are all works of art!

Mission Chinese

Sunday, June 23rd, 2013

Thanks to a tip from one of my wedding couples, Catherine and Adam, I checked out Mission Chinese in San Francisco on my last visit.  Oh heaven!

Super unique food combos…lots of pickled, salted and thrice cooked stuff.

In order, here’s what I had:

1)  Stir-fried Sweet Peas, Pea Tendrils, Numbing Chili, Red Onion Pickles

2)  Special Egg-Egg dish

3)  Kung Pao Pastrami, Explosive Chili, Celery, Potato, Sweet Peppers, Roasted Peanuts

Smitten Ice Cream in San Francisco

Thursday, June 20th, 2013

Smitten in San Francisco makes ice cream right in front of your eyes.  I must confess, due to unusual circumstances, I had this bowl of fresh vanilla with peanut brittle for breakfast.  And I don’t feel one bit guilty about that!
