Major Cheesy here!  Noah and I were house hunting and came across this very heart-shaped mirror in a very pink bathroom.  Noah is putting up with the ultra-romantic cheesiness.  I Heart Noah!

Happy New Year from me to y’all.  How much more Austin, Texas can I get than riding my favorite longhorn in front of the capitol building?  In case you’re rubbing your eyes (you may have had a long night, Jan 1 and all), so yes, this really happened!  It’s not a fake, it’s not photoshopped, not in the slightest.

Alejandra and Ben’s dogs were, um, helpful, while we were doing maternity photos.  Of course, the minute we decided to do a family portrait, they were completely doing their own thing.  They are also pretty darn cute, so apologies in advance for superfluous doggie photos!

One more time lapse for you.  Here’s Noah wearing his favorite punk rock t-shirt from the Chicago band Naked Raygun.

The first photo is Noah in 1992 in front Eclectic (the literary society fraternity where he lived).  I didn’t take that photo, but I like it so much.  The second photo is 2011, same t-shirt, same guy.

Apparently the original photo was taken for The Argus, the school paper because Noah was running for Wesleyan Student Assembly.  He wore a punk rock t-shirt for his official campaign photo.  Even better, he got elected!.  Ironically, he had to wear a suit to all the council meetings and hobnobbed with many important people.

Noah, my husband, went to Wesleyan University in Connecticut.  We went for a visit in the year 2000.  Then, this year, we were in the area, so we decided to visit again. 

I thought it’d be fun to recreate the same portraits.  We didn’t have the same red plaid button down shirt, and I totally forgot that I used to shoot wide angle lenses (I only brought my Zeiss 50mm on this trip), so it’s not quite the same.  I also shoot more verticals now.  It was fun a little challenge for me to make this work.

Plus…they removed the old scoreboard from the building next to the playing field!  What a bummer, it was soooooo cool.  This black and white shot from 2000 shows it pretty well.

And here’s Noah in front of the Performing Arts building.  He was a film major this is his hangout.  Notice the open area to the left of the building?  Checkout the very last photo…

Today, dear readers, I am attending a wedding…as a guest!  It’s black tie formal and in beautiful upstate New York.  I’m looking forward to seeing some autumn leaves and doing some dancing.  I’m going without my camera, you know, like regular people.

Today is the birthday of my older brother Normand.  Yep, my mom went into labor on Labor Day!  He’s looking quite dapper with the bow tie.  I recall another photo from this same day where he is [pretend] smoking a pipe.

The day after the wedding, some heart lattés and yep, there’s the film right there with us (we are obsessed with protecting the bounty!) at breakfast before heading to the airport.
