The much anticipated grand opening of the Austin store for Paloma’s Nest was a few nights ago. Snippet & Ink is a huge fan and has featured some of the images on their blog today.
Caroline Colom Vasque, the artist behind Paloma’s Nest, has outdone herself. I’ve always been a fan of her Ringbearer Bowls, but she offers so much more. Simple, beautiful gifts for celebrations and events. Custom ribbon, keepsakes, room decor, even bracelets. My favorite were the balsa wood crowns that can be personalized. I went a bit crazy photographing in her store and still didn’t show it all. You’ve got to go check it out, if not in person, then at her online store.
This is the lovely Caroline.
Caroline and her husband Jose gave away tiny Texas ornaments as a memento of their first brick and mortar location.
The party was also a huge hit, with flowers, linens and decor by talented Wendee of Unexpected Elements. She has got the magic touch with event decor!
There was a truly dazzling display of macarons, cakes and cookies by Polka Dots Cupcake Factory, who happen to be celebrating their 3rd anniversary this weekend. If you look closely you can see gold painted on the chocolate macarons and little nests painted on the other cookies. Plus, little nests on top of the cakes. WOW.
A table runner that was a piece of art, by an artist: Momental Designs.
Charcuterie plate and pickeled fennel by Ben Runkle, the gifted guy behind Salt & Time.
All accompanied by vinyl being spun by a very very very young DJ.
Jose, Caroline’s hubby, enjoying the party.
Three lovely graphic designers in attendance:
Lauren Hardage (LaurenHardage.com), Leah Duncan (LeahDuncan.com) and Miss Natalie (missnatalie.com).
They all had much appreciation for the lovely products at Paloma’s Nest.
