Learning to cook

Learning to cook…it’s sort of like a New Year’s resolution, but it’s not.  But it felt like a good second-day-of-the-year blog post.

I’ve long been a foodie, but somehow never learned to cook.  Last June, I found out I had some serious food allergies (in addition to my two years of gluten intolerance) that precluded eating in restaurants.  I’ve been in the kitchen ever since.  I’m still really just a baby in my cooking knowledge.

Here are some of my questions:

Why do veggies fly off my cutting board and onto the floor when i’m chopping?

Why are all meals created for 4 – 6 people?

Why do things burn when I walk away from the stove?

What did people do before food processors existed?
