Remembering my dad on his birthday.
Today is my dad’s birthday. I can’t recall the date when he died, but I always remember his birthday. We were a lot alike. I still can’t believe he’s gone. I even reached for the phone to call him when the Red Sox won the World Series. Or when Ray Bourque finally won a Stanley Cup. Or when we decided to move to Texas of all places.
People wonder how I could photograph his funeral, but it was my only way to get through such a day, doing the one thing that keeps me centered and fulfilled. He enjoyed watching me grow as a photographer, so I know he’d be honored to be remembered through photos.

Thanks for sharing your dad with us. My dad died when I was very young, but I imagine that he might have been as fun as yours…

Hi SuzyQ,
We were talking about the Russian cameras and how wonderful they are compared to a widelux that was giving us fits the other day and thought of you and looked you up.
I love your website and was so taken by the My Dad blog, loved the pics. I can sympathize
with your feelings, as I lost my father who worked in this business and started it, he passed 3 years ago, and I made a conscious choice to work with him instead of pursuing
my hairdressing career. I am glad I made that choice, cause hes not here now and I am glad I did what I did. I will check your site from time to time, I like your style.
Hope all is well, and we both (Marek ) and I say Hi and are glad everything is good for you and if you are ever in this neck of the woods stop by and say hi!
Take care!
Sabrina and Marek
