Jessica and Patrick’s wedding at Vibiana in Los Angeles.
Jessica and Patrick’s ceremony was in a grand old church, St. Charles.
Then they had their reception in another grand old church, Vibiana.
Both locations were built and decorated in the early 20th century,
and had a classic beauty that reminded me of old Hollywood.
However, I wouldn’t say the proceedings were totally pious.
The groomsmen all wore Converse sneakers and the bridemaids
were dressed in happy shades of plum.
The guests, a mix of New Yorkers and Angelenos, were ready to have a good time
and show their happiness for Jessica and Patrick.
There were bubbles, a bagpiper, and impromptu hot dogs at the fountain.
The cocktail hour had a huge seafood display and an ice luge for mixing drinks.
Plus panini sandwiches, little hamburgers, and an egg roll buffet.
When the reception started there was still more food…a pasta bar, two sushi chefs, a mashed potato bar.
Jessica and Patrick are serious about the yummy stuff!
There was even a chic Italian cookie buffet with bags to fill and take home.
Even better, the cookies were homemade by all of Jessica’s Italian aunts.
I think the word got out about it, because guests were lining up for cookies.
I had a blast taking portraits of people in the vintage confessional booths.
I know I say this about every wedding, but there was crazy dancing (with real talent!)
and a seriously over-the-top garter toss.
