Lisa and Mark had their wedding in their backyard on Lake Austin. They even had a yurt built especially for this day, but Austin had a near record number of 100 degree days this summer. It was like a sauna inside the yurt, so the next best thing was the backyard that overlooks the lake. Despite the heat, the setting was breathtaking. For refreshment, Lisa and Mark set up water coolers filled with cucumber-flavored and orange-flavored water.

I’m a big fan of backyard weddings because there is always a lot of love evident. Lisa and Mark invited their closest friends and family to witness their ceremony. Plus, I should give you some back story. Mark had been on Match.com for 2 years and was about to give up on it. Lisa joined and 4 days later she found Mark. Their Match.com profiles were so similar (they had them on display near the flowers), it was crazy. And pretty obvious that they are meant for each other.

They kept the day simple, yet still took time to choose beautiful details like Lisa’s dress and the amazing flowers provided by Luscious Flowers. After the ceremony, like, 5 seconds after the ceremony, champagne bottles were popped. The party moved on up to a secret Austin foodie find, Ronnie’s Real Food for a three course dinner. After that, the party came right back to the lake for kareoke, fireworks and lots of goofing around in the water.
